This is our most popular kayak tour. If you can ride a bike you can kayak. After a brief paddle instruction and safety talk, we bring your kayak down to the beach. We launch our kayaks from La Jolla Shores and paddle to the La Jolla Sea Caves taking in the gorgeous views and watching for the abundant wildlife. We always see numerous types of sea birds and usually sea lions, seals and sometimes dolphins. We then kayak into the fascinating kelp beds of the La Jolla Ecological Reserve and enjoy the surf zone on our way back. Kayaking is fun for all ages! No experience necessary. What is Provided: Kayaks, paddle, life jacket, and guide. Wet suit rentals are offered during fall, winter and spring. Slip into the beautiful underwater world of La Jolla Cove on our 2-hour Snorkeling Tour. With your guide you will discover the incredible waters of La Jolla’s Ecological Reserve and marvel at the abundant wildlife. We’ll swim by the La Jolla Caves, the fascinating kelp beds and reefs near the Cove. Expert instruction and all your snorkeling equipment is provided, (waterproof cameras are available for purchase). This action packed day begins with the Plunge Bike Tour starting at the top of Mt. Soledad with some of the best views or all of San Diego. We give you a small break after the bike ride to grab lunch. (There are several delis and a market near by or you could bring a lunch and eat at the park) Then we jump into our kayaks for the Sea Caves Kayak tour. Join your expert naturalist guide for a 2 mile tour around the La Jolla Ecological reserve and the sea caves. We end the day with a hike through Torrey Pines State reserve with more breath taking views and beautiful flora and fauna. Our mountain biking tours cover some of San Diego's best wild areas and include a combination of dirt roads and single track. The tours are designed for beginning mountain bikers, but will please riders of all abilities. We ride in local parks including Penasquitos, Mission Trails and the Rose Canyon areas. Our climate lets us mountain bike all year around, unless the trails are closed due to muddy conditions, which is rare. Mission Bay is the largest aquatic park in the United States. This kayaking tour is great for families. Some of the highlights include sea lions, sea birds and sometimes we can even see the penguins at Sea World. No experience is necessary. What is provided: Tour Guides, kayaks, paddles and life jackets. We paddle stable, open-top (also called sit-on-top) kayaks. Duration of Tour: 1.5 Hours Tour times: Daily at 10:00am
Our Most Popular Biking Tour in San Diego Start with the stunning 360° views from Mt. Soledad. After we soak in the sights, we zoom down the 3.5 mile descent to the ocean. Then we bicycle around some of San Diego's MOST prestigious and quaint neighbors, including La Jolla, Pacific Beach, and Mission Beach. On the return, we usually take in the fun at La Jolla's own seal rookery (the Children's Pool.) What is Provided: Multi-speed hybrid-type bicycle, helmet, water, snacks and guide. Tours Held Daily - (Minimum two people) 8:30am, 10:30am, & 1:30pm Tour is about 2-2.5 hours long.
Torrey Pines State Reserve - a wilderness island in an urban sea. This fragile 2000 acre environment is also the home of our nation's rarest pine tree - Pinus torreyana. The views combine wind bent trees, abstract sandstone formations, wildflowers, and the sea or lagoon below, all of which are constantly changing. Dramatic views are plentiful from areas of the hiking trails which parallel the bluff edge high above the sea and several viewing platforms have been built right at the bluff edge. They are excellent sites for observing the yearly migration of the Gray Whales as well as the year-round spectacle of dolphins. What is Provided: Tour Guide, water and snacks following the tour. Our action packed half-day will start out with our famous "La Jolla Plunge" - a three hour bike tour that starts at the top of Mount Soledad for a breathtaking view of all of San Diego. This scenic bike ride down the coast includes such sites as La Jolla Cove, Children's Pool and Windansea. Following a brief rest we will hop into our kayaks for a kayak tour to the breathtaking La Jolla Sea Caves. Included in Tour: Tour Guide, bike, kayak, appropriate safety equipment, water and snacks. Start from our shop at La Jolla Shores. We ride on the bike path overlooking the ocean, through the beautiful back streets of La Jolla, through Bird Rock, Wind'nSea, Pacific Beach and then return to La Jolla Shores. We always stop at La Jolla Cove and Children's Pool on the way back and usually see quite a few seals or sea lions!
